Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Sparkline Capital LP (“we”) collects and uses information when you visit, request access to, or use Sparkline Analytics at app.sparklinecapital.com (the “App”). Parts of the App — including individual fund and peer-group pages — are publicly available and can be read without an account. This policy covers those visits too; where a section applies only once you have requested access, it says so. Your use of the App is also subject to our Terms of Service.

You can read the App’s public pages without giving us any of this. When you request access, we collect your email address and name, and optionally your company and a free-text note. You can view and edit your name and company at any time on your Account page.

When you read a public page, with or without an account. Our servers record technical information about the request: your IP address, browser type, the pages and funds requested, and the referral source or campaign link that brought you to the App. Your browser also reports which sections of a page came into view and roughly how long they stayed visible, along with general display characteristics such as window size and screen type. We use this to keep the App available and secure, to measure which pages and sections are read, and to detect automated bulk collection. It goes to our own servers, not to an outside analytics service, and we do not try to identify you from it.

When you request access or sign in. We additionally record sign-in times and how you use the App (for example, saved watchlists, fund selections, portfolios, and our server logs of the features and funds you view), and associate that activity with your account. Emails we send you may record whether they are opened or clicked. We use this information to review access requests, keep the App secure, sync your preferences across devices, and understand how the App and our communications are used.

We use your information to review and decide access requests, to operate the App (including sending sign-in links and account-related emails), to maintain your preferences, and to communicate with you — including responding to your inquiries and reaching out to you individually about your access request, your use of the App, our research, or related professional matters. We also use it to send you Sparkline’s research updates — by requesting access you agree to receive them — to understand how the App is used, to improve our products and services, and for security and other internal business purposes. We may create and use aggregated or de-identified information (for example, overall usage statistics) that does not identify you. Account-related emails, such as sign-in links, are a necessary part of how the App works.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it with service providers that help us operate the App — including hosting and database providers, our email delivery service, our customer relationship management provider, and our analytics provider — which process it on our behalf under contract. The information these providers receive is described under Cookies & Analytics below. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or the security of the App and its users, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, reorganization, or sale of assets. Aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you may be used and shared without restriction.

The App uses your browser’s local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your display preferences. These are necessary for the App to function and are not used to track you.

We also work with third-party customer relationship management and analytics providers. These services set cookies in your browser and receive information about your visit. They load on every page of the App, unless your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal — see below:

Our customer relationship management provider records which pages you view within the App and when, and associates that activity with your contact record, so we can understand how the people we work with engage with the App and our other properties.

Our analytics provider records aggregate traffic and usage patterns — the referral source or campaign that brought you to the App, approximate geographic location, device and browser type, and the addresses of pages you view. Those addresses are stripped of the parameters that record what you were looking at — which funds you compared, against which benchmark, as of which date — so the analytics provider receives which page you opened, not the contents of your session. It does not receive your email address, your name, or any other information that directly identifies you.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not track you across websites we do not operate. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser or a browser extension sends it, we do not load these analytics services at all. We do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals, which browsers never standardized. If you would prefer that we not associate your App activity with your contact record, email us at the address below and we will honor that request.

We retain your information while your account is active. Records of access requests and decisions may be retained for security and audit purposes. Technical logs of public-page visits are kept for a limited period and then reduced to aggregate counts that do not identify a visitor. To request a copy of your information or deletion of your account and data, email compliance@sparklinecapital.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information; contact us and we will work with you to honor them.

Your information is stored and processed in the United States by us and our service providers. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and passwordless sign-in. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

The App is a professional tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
